The platform offers robust search capabilities, starting with your Zotero library and extending to OpenAlex for scholarly discovery and web search for public pages when needed. It supports both keyword and semantic search, deep paper reading for extracting specific information, and the ability to synthesize evidence. BibGenie also assists with library organization, using AI to inspect, classify, and manage Zotero items with preview-first workflows for sensitive changes. Users have flexibility in model usage, choosing between BibGenie's recommended official models, connecting their own providers via BYOK, or running models locally with tools like Ollama and LM Studio.
